Average Pay for Retirees in Singapore

The average monthly benefit for retired workers in August 2013 was $1,270, while the maximum monthly benefit for someone retiring at full retirement age (age 66) in 2013 is $2,533. Some bills will disappear in retirement, especially if the kids are done with their educations, the mortgage is paid off and the cars payments are done. For a marketing manager position, especially "regional", ask for no less than SGD $8000 per month. I am assuming that you have relevant work experience and a Master's degree. This is because rules and regulations tend to be set in stone here and it is taken very seriously. Also, sometimes, the HR department may not have a clear picture either.

Comparative Pay by Country

Thought this might be of interest to those looking for comparative pay information between countries: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17543356 It features a calculator that lets you enter a country and a monthly pre-tax wage amount in local currency, which it then calibrates against the average salary in the country (and against the world average). According to this page, the average salary in Singapore, measured in 'purchasing power parity (PPP) dollars', is US$2616. PPP is defined as follows: 'One PPP dollar is equal to 1 US dollar spent in the US'.

What are Your Monthly Expectations

Assume you will spend SGD4 both ways entirely by MRT and bus in combination for work in a day. Then throw in occasional taxi rides probably about SGD100 (maybe for those odd grocery shopping trips) in total in a month, since you mentioned you don't go out drinking. And do your math. That's for your transportation alone. Food-wise, for a single person, I would spend around SGD300 (considering SGD10 per day x 30 days) eating out cheaply and occasional cooking. Multiply that figure by two for your wife and you will get the estimate. Still that entirely depends on your diet and preference.

Singapore Property Taxes Explained

In Singapore’s property development segment, we have started to notice several strategic moves by key property developers. While most of these moves have been envisioned as long-term, we wonder if it is a sign of things to come. Just secured a position with a bank for S$140k p.a. I'm currently a singapore citizen living in US (green card). Single. What do u think of the package would it be sufficient taking into account daily expenses. Worried abt being double taxed but in US and Singapore. I've been on the irs web site for some taxation facts but wanted to hear any one who is in a similar situation for advice. The average monthly benefit for retired workers in August 2013 was $1,270, while the maximum monthly benefit for someone retiring at full retirement age (age 66) in 2013 is $2,533.
